OCL 655 - Clinic Paired Internship Credit(s): 2.57
In this first experience of clinical internship, DACM and MACM degree program students work in pairs under the supervision of experienced licensed acupuncturists and are responsible for greeting patients, explaining their
role, conducting patient histories and exams, documenting all patient progress and treatment interactions, and proposing to the clinical supervisor a diagnosis and treatment plan for the patient. After the clinical supervisor examines the patient and reviews the diagnosis and treatment plan, the student team is then responsible for explaining the treatment plan to the patient and administering the treatment; the supervisor is present for all needling to ensure proper treatment.
